Shavkat Mirziyoyev: 2020 will be a turning point in the state’s youth policy
On December 27, the President of Uzbekistan met with representatives of the younger generation at the school named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.
As the presidential press service reported, during the meeting, the problems in the lives of young people and urgent tasks were considered. The absence of an effective mechanism for the selection of managers from among young people and finding jobs suitable for their abilities was noted.
The heads of relevant ministries were given instructions on the prevention of delinquency and crime among young people, and the prevention of family divorces. The tasks for the implementation of each direction of the five initiatives in districts and cities were identified.
The meeting participants supported the initiative to organize an Agency for Youth Affairs on the basis of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan. It was also proposed to organize a Youth Media Holding, uniting specialized TV and radio channels, as well as print media.
“We will build a new Uzbekistan together with young people. 2020 will be a turning point in the state’s youth policy,” Mirziyoyev noted.
At the meeting, held in the form of an open dialogue, participants expressed their views. The head of state gave instructions to responsible executives on the each proposal made.
