Uzbekistan to implement “My garden in the Aral Sea” project
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree “On additional measures to improve the efficiency of the International Innovation Center for the Aral Sea Basin under the President of Uzbekistan”.
According to the document, the agricultural and ecotourism project “My garden in the Aral Sea” will be implemented in the republic, aimed at eliminating the consequences of the Aral Sea disaster and increasing the number of tourists.
For the creation of indicative experimental sites, the Center is allocated land parcels at the expense of the reserved land plots of Karakalpakstan, the territories of the drained bottom of the Aral Sea, and also the lands of the forest fund in the Aral Sea region.
A regular movement of public transport is organized from the Nukus Central Market to the territory of the International Innovation Center in the Nukus district.
It is worth noting that recently the Muynak and Samanbay experimental sites have been created by the International Innovation Center, the gene pool of salt and drought-resistant desert and ornamental plants has also been formed, and 13 species of plants, which are introduced into it, are being tested.
