Transport Ministry expects to receive two high-speed trains this year
This year Uzbekistan may purchase two high-speed trains manufactured in Spain, Deputy Minister of Transport Davron Dekhkanov said.
“In 2021, two high-speed trains will be acquired. We are currently in talks with a Spanish company. If we manage to reach an agreement, we will be able to get the trains not in 2021, but this year,” he said at a meeting of the International Press Club.
It should be recalled that last year a loan agreement was signed with the official credit institution of the Spanish government on the acquisition of new Talgo high-speed trains, wagons, components for them and equipment for after-sales service.
Currently, four high-quality Afrosiyob trains, manufactured by the Spanish company, operate in the Samarkand, Jizzakh, Bukhara, Karshi, Shakhrisabz and Navoi direction.
