Mirziyoyev talks to Tokayev and Berdimuhamedow over the phone to discuss coronavirus issues
The presidents discussed the situation related to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and informed each other about the measures being taken to fight the disease.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the importance of continuing the joint work on further strengthening cooperation between the countries in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of effective cooperation at the level of governments to fight the coronavirus pandemic and prevent its negative impact on bilateral relations.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported the persistent actions of the Kazakh President and noted that they were timely and justified.
Over 30 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Kazakhstan so far, while in Uzbekistan, 15 cases have been registered.
No case of infection was yet identified in Turkmenistan, however, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow stressed that Turkmenistan is ready for all-round support and joint efforts to address new challenges in these troubled times.
