Mirziyoyev, Berdimuhamedov discuss joint measures to minimize negative impact of coronavirus on Uzbek-Turkmen relations
Today, March 27, a telephone conversation took place between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
According to the press service of the Uzbek leader, the parties discussed current aspects of bilateral cooperation, including the priority measures taken in the countries to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
“The sides noted with satisfaction the work carried out in close coordination of the relevant departments and organizations in providing mutual practical assistance, especially in the border areas, and monitoring the development of the epidemiological situation,” the report says.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of continuing active joint measures to minimize the negative impact of the pandemic on Uzbek-Turkmen relations in the trade, economic, energy, transport-communications, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.
The leaders expressed confidence that joint actions will help to successfully overcome all emerging difficulties and new challenges, and will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and good neighborliness, strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
