Mirziyoyev, Tokayev discuss joint measures to liquidate consequences of the flooding in Syrdarya region
Today, May 8, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The heads of state exchanged congratulations on the upcoming holiday – Victory Day over fascism, the presidential press service reported.
“During the conversation, particular attention was paid to continuing close cooperation in order to eliminate the consequences of the emergency at the Sardoba reservoir in the border regions. The parties agreed on further priority steps to provide targeted assistance to the population and the restoration of infrastructure in the affected areas,” the report says.
The presidents also examined the current epidemiological situation in connection with the spread of the coronavirus infection. Mutual support was expressed for measures taken at the national level to combat the pandemic, with the gradual easing of restrictions for the population and businesses.
The sides noted the importance of speedy practical implementation of the agreements in the trade and economic sphere, including the preparation and promotion of promising projects in the automotive industry, agriculture, processing industry, transport and logistics, and other sectors.
