Tokayev: Efficient and rational use of water resources will be addressed in close cooperation with Uzbekistan
The issue of rational use of water resources will be resolved with the Uzbek side. The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on his Twitter, Tengrinews.kz reports.
“Flood victims in the Maktaaral district of the Turkestan region will be fully provided with housing. Each of them will receive 100 thousand tenge from the republican budget. The situation is under control,” Tokayev wrote.
He also added that the issue of efficient and rational use of water resources will be addressed in close cooperation with the Uzbek side.
It should be recalled that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on May 8.
During the talks, special attention was paid to the continuation of close cooperation in the border areas to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation at the Sardoba reservoir.
The parties agreed on the next steps to provide targeted assistance to the population and restore infrastructure in the affected areas.
