Self-employed citizens to be exempt from income tax
On May 19, Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference on additional measures to support entrepreneurship.
According to the presidential press service, a new system will be introduced in Uzbekistan to create decent conditions for self-employed citizens.
“Hairdressers, shoemakers, bakers, blacksmiths, carpenters, tailors, taxi drivers, translators, designers, programmers – self-employed citizens in more than 60 types of professions will be exempt from income tax. To take advantage of this benefit, one should notify the tax authorities by phone,” the statement said.
It is noted that based on international best practices, a mobile application will be developed for registration of self-employed citizens.
