Uzbekistan returned 39 thousand compatriots home due to pandemic – Shavkat Mirziyoyev

According to the presidential press service, the head of state again separately touched upon ongoing work to counter the pandemic. Of the 2,880 people who were diagnosed with the infection, 2,314, or 82 percent recovered completely.
In addition, 23 thousand medical workers who work with coronavirus patients received more than 78 billion soums.
“Along with the fight against the disease, we also take care of our citizens abroad. To date, we have returned 39 thousand compatriots to their homeland. Measures are being taken to provide the necessary assistance and to return another 12 thousand citizens home, who found themselves in a difficult situation abroad,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
