More than 3,000 doctors and nurses in Tashkent to be mobilized to fight the coronavirus
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on July 20 on the work being done in Uzbekistan to combat the coronavirus infection.
At the meeting, it was noted that the work on curbing the pandemic is not systematic in the field.
“In particular, the primary health care unit, i.e. family clinics and rural medical centers, are not working around-the-clock.
Although 11 district multidisciplinary centers and 64 family clinics in Tashkent have 50 to 200 medical staff each, most of them receive patients only in the first half of the day.
Each clinic should have a special mobile team of 3 doctors formed to provide consultative care to patients with mild or asymptomatic from of the COVID-19 infection, but some brigades do not have a doctor at all.
Almost all clinics have X-ray diagnostic rooms, but their facilities are not used.
If these clinics provide effective patronage services to the population, the pressure on the ambulance will be reduced and confusion among the population will be prevented,” the presidential press service said.
Deputy Prime Minister Behzod Musayev and the Ministry of Health have been instructed to fully mobilize the capacity of 75 polyclinics in the capital, more than 3,000 doctors and nurses working in these facilities to provide services to patients with mild and asymptomatic infections 24 hours a day.
It was also tasked to develop mechanisms to encourage the work of doctors and nurses involved in this activity.
