“Despite the quarantine restrictions, we consistently continue the large-scale work on developing industry and agriculture, and creating modern production facilities. We managed to preserve the sources of income and the living standard of the main part of the population,” Mirziyoyev said.
According to the President, the country has raised the support of the population in need of assistance and the issues of poverty reduction to the level of state policy.
In particular, the number of those receiving social benefits has grown by almost 1.5 times. By the end of the year, their number will increase from 774 thousand to 1.2 million. The state budget has allocated 12.5 trillion soums to support this category of citizens and restore the economy, the President said.
“In its history, Uzbekistan has never carried out such a large-scale work in the social sphere,” Mirziyoyev stressed.
