Chief Imam-khatib of Samarkand city dies aged 73
The chief Imam-khatib of the city of Samarkand, Nuriddinkhon Islomov, died at the age of 73.
Nuriddinkhon Islomov began his career in 1970 as an employee of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan. In 1980-2008, he served as the Imam-khatib of the Gallaaral district, Jizzakh region. In 2008-2017, he was the Imam-khatib of the Samarkand region. From 2017 to this day, he was working as the Imam of the city of Samarkand.
In the statement of the Samarkand city khokimiyat, the cause of the Imam’s death was not clarified.
Earlier it was reported that the chief Imam-khatib of the Tashkent region Khayrullokh Turmatov, as well as the chief Imam-khatib of the Yakkabag district of the Kashkadarya region Tokhir Ismatillayev passed away.
