Breakdown of two large cement plants leads to reduced production in Uzbekistan
Exchange prices for cement in Uzbekistan have slightly increased due to the failure of furnaces at the Akhangarancement JSC and the Jizzakh cement plant, the Antimonopoly Committee reported.
According to the Committee, on October 7, Akhangarancement announced the failure of two rotary kilns. As a result, the cement volumes offered for sale by this manufacturer decreased on average from 7 to 5 thousand tons per day.
A similar situation has occurred at the Jizzakh cement plant of the Almalyk MMC JSC. Due to the ongoing repairs of the out-of-order furnace, the volume of produced cement decreased on average from 11 to 5 thousand tons.
Thus, the average volume of daily production in the Republic amounted to almost 37 thousand tons, sales – 35 thousand tons, which influenced the decrease in the average number of buyers to 495 organizations per day, against the indicator of the previous trading week – 590 buyers.
The fact of a decrease in the volume of production was also reflected in the price level, which slightly increased by the end of the week and was fixed at 579 soums/kg. In turn, the average weekly price was 574 soums/kg, which is 16 soums/kg less than the average price of the previous week.
