Mirziyoyev awards highest diplomatic rank to Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN
By the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Bakhtiyor Ibragimov has been awarded the highest diplomatic rank – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Dunyo IA reported.
Bakhtiyor Ibragimov was born in Tashkent. Since 1992, he has been holding various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including in the embassies of Uzbekistan in the United States and South Korea.
In May 2017, he was appointed Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN (New York).
In June 2019, at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Uzbekistan was for the first time elected vice-chair of the next session. Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, as Permanent Representative of the Republic, represented the country at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly from September 2019 to September 2020.
