Sergeli car market to be privatized
It is planned to privatize the car market in the Sergeli district, Spot reported with reference to the State Assets Management Agency.
According to the financial report, the “Iste’molda Bo’lgan Transport Vositalari va Ehtiyot Qismlar Sergeli Bozori” (“Sergeli bazaar of secondhand cars and spare parts”) that manages the market is a profitable enterprise.
In 2018 and 2019, revenues amounted to 21.2 and 28.2 billion soums, respectively. The main part of it was spent on paying taxes – 12.7 and 15.5 billion soums.
At the same time, the amount of net profit for these two years differs significantly – 320.6 million soums in 2018 and 3.3 billion soums in 2019. Return on assets increased from 0.34% to 0.54%.
The debt of the enterprise is 1.5 billion soums, the debt to the enterprise is twice as much – 3.7 billion soums. Debts of the car market rose sharply in 2020 – a year ago the debt was 30.7 million soums.
As part of the privatization campaign, state shares in 339 markets and shopping malls across Uzbekistan may be sold.
