In the last two years, 1986 officials have caused 2 trillion soums in damage to the state through their illegal actions and have been prosecuted for corruption-related crimes. This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his congratulatory message to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Constitution Day.
“It is necessary to develop and implement effective mechanisms to prevent and combat corruption, which is an enemy of development. The fact that 1,986 officials have been prosecuted for corruption-related crimes, which have caused 2 trillion soums in damage to the state over the past two years, shows how urgent this issue is,” Mirziyoyev said.
It was noted that the National Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2021-2025 is being developed to continue the work in this direction in a systematic and comprehensive manner.
“Corruption is a very dangerous threat that destroys our country from the inside and threatens our national security. It is the duty of all of us to fight against it uncompromisingly,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
