Mirziyoyev, Erdogan discuss consolidating trade-economic relations
On December 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.
During the talks, the sides noted with satisfaction the results of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. It was stressed that over the past three years about 300 new enterprises were created with the participation of Turkish investors. The leading companies of the two countries are implementing major projects in energy, urban planning, infrastructure modernization, agriculture and other sectors of the economy. The program of cultural and humanitarian exchange is expanding, the presidential press service writes.
The parties emphasized the importance of concluding a preferential trade agreement at the earliest possible time framework. The agreement is expected to help bring the turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkey to $5 billion in the coming years.
The sides also exchanged views on topical issues in the international and regional agenda. They considered the schedule of bilateral and multilateral events in 2021, identified priority measures for their thorough preparation.
