Government to reimburse costs of foreign language proficiency exams for those scoring high
Costs of international exams that test foreign language proficiency as well as costs of GMAT, GRE and SAT tests will be covered by the state for those who earn at least 75 percent of the maximum score.
In accordance with a relevant resolution of the government, starting May 1, costs of IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT, GRE and SAT tests will be reimbursed for those who score high in them.
For example, who earns 7 in IELTS, in which the maximum score is 9, will have his costs covered by the state.
Also, costs of CAE, CPE, BEC, Test DAF, TOPIK, JLPT, HSK, TYS and other language proficiency exams will be reimbursed from January 1, 2022. The condition is the same – to earn at least 75 percent of the maximum score.
To receive reimbursement one should submit a receipt of payment for the exam and the certificate in pdf format. The certificate will be checked for authenticity within 15 days and the applicant will be paid the money once it is verified.
