Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Uzbekistan receives ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccine against coronavirus

On March 1, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, received Darkhan Satybaldi, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. The parties discussed Uzbekistan’s efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic and to strengthen cooperation in this area, the ministry’s press service informed.

Ambassador Abdurakhmanov informed the ambassador about clinical research of Uzbek-Chinese vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC 2001. To date, 6,836 volunteers have received their first dose of vaccine, 4,453 volunteers – the second dose and 283 volunteers – the third dose of vaccine. Some of them had only minor side effects – an allergic reaction. This represents 0.01 percent, indicating the safety of the vaccine.

Darkhan Satybaldy congratulated scientists of Uzbekistan and China on the success of research on the new recombinant vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC2001 and noted that he would prepare a proposal to discuss the supply of Uzbek-Chinese vaccine to Kazakhstan.

Following the talks, Kazakh Ambassador Darkhan Satybaldy and two staff members of the Kazakh Embassy received the first dose of the ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccine.
