Uzbekistan ready to strengthen co-op with International Organization for Migration
The Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva has held talks with the Sub-Regional Coordinator for Central Asia at IOM Zeynal Hajiyev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of employment in Uzbekistan, creating decent jobs and working conditions, work carried out on external migration, as well as tasks for the future. In particular, the sides talked about protecting the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens abroad, providing decent jobs, returning victims of human trafficking to the country, carrying out work in the field of illegal migration and other issues.

It was noted that in recent years, the country has been carrying out large-scale reforms aimed at protecting the rights and improving the living conditions of labor migrants working abroad.
Also at the meeting, the current state of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and IOM and the possibilities of expanding the scale of cooperation, taking into account new directions, were considered.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached on further intensifying contacts on mutually beneficial issues, expanding ties between the IOM and the relevant departments of Uzbekistan.
