Sergei Shoigu brings archive documents to Uzbekistan
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has brought a collection of archival documents on the contribution of the Uzbek people to the defeat of fascism during the Second World War.
“Our meeting takes place on the eve of Victory Day. I donated a collection of archival documents on the contribution of the Uzbek people to the great victory. I will hand them over at the end of our meeting,” Shoigu said during talks with the Defense Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhodir Kurbanov in Bukhara.
Then the Russian Defense Minister proposed “to proceed to discuss issues of military and military-technical cooperation.”
Earlier it was reported that the defense ministries of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation prepared a program of strategic partnership for 2021-2025.
“Its implementation will make our cooperation more systemic, bring it to a level consistent with the spirit of our relations. Such a document has been developed for the first time. I propose to approve it today,” said Shoigu.
In addition, Shoigu invited colleagues from Uzbekistan “to the events of the Russian Ministry of Defense this year – the Ninth Moscow Conference on International Security, the International Military-Technical Forum “Army”, Army International Games, which will be held virtually.
