Tajikistan appoints new ambassador to Uzbekistan
Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, who had previously served as an assistant to President Emomali Rahmon for social development and public relations, has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan.
Rahmonzoda’s predecessor, Sodik Imomi, has led the diplomatic mission since 2017 and now serves as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda was born on March 15, 1959, in Kulob. He is a Doctor of Philology and over the years, he was chairman of the Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Tajikistan, Minister of Education, rector of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayniy. Since December 15, 2014, he had served as an assistant to the President of Tajikistan for social development and public relations.
