President dissatisfied with corruption in the housing and communal services sector

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that about 100 officials in the housing and communal services sector have been prosecuted for corruption over the past two years.

According to a Kun.uz correspondent, today’s videoconference was devoted to implementation of the mortgage program in the regions and creation of multi-apartment housing estates.

“There are large number of thefts in the housing and communal services sphere – corruption here flourishes. Approximately, 100 officials have been prosecuted for corruption over the past two years. For example, the heads of the Andijan Regional Department of Housing and Communal Services misused 240 million soums, in Namangan, officials of the Tamirlash Tiklash Xizmati enterprise misappropriated 240 million soums, and in Surkhandarya, water supply department employees embezzled 540 million soums,” the President said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the Minister of Housing and Communal Services Sherzod Khidoyatov to improve the sphere and eradicate corruption in the field.
