Tashkent to host a conference on Central and South Asia
On July 15-16, International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Threats and opportunities” will be held in Tashkent.
At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 15-16, 2021, a conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Threats and opportunities” will be held in Tashkent.
The main purpose of the forum is to strengthen the historically close and friendly ties, trust and good neighborliness between the countries of Central and South Asia in the interests of the peoples and countries of the two regions.
Reportedly, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, foreign ministers and high-level representatives of Central and South Asian countries, heads of leading international and regional organizations, global financial institutions and companies, leading research and analysis centers are expected to attend.
The forum participants will discuss the possibility of promoting initiatives aimed at developing trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian cooperation within the framework of further strengthening regional ties in plenary and branch meetings.
The agenda includes the development of cooperation in trade, investment, transport, energy and innovation, green technologies, implementation of specific projects and programs on cooperation, expansion of partnerships in tourism, education, health, science and culture, ensuring stability and security of the two regions, as well as detailed exchange of views and development of joint proposals.
