Sodiq Safoyev appointed acting rector of UWED

He headed the university previously as well, in 2005.

Sodiq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, has been appointed acting rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the Ministry of Justice said.

Reportedly, the government adopted a relevant resolution on July 23.

Safoyev has been serving as the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis since 2015.

For information, Komiljon Karimov, who headed the university since September 17, 2020, was appointed First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education in late June this year.
