Mirziyoyev proposes to launch a unified system for recognition of vaccination certificates in Central Asia

On August 6, the President of Uzbekistan delivered a speech at the third consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia.

Today, August 7, the press service of the head of state published the full text of his speech.

As it became known, during his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Unfortunately, the pandemic is still seriously damaging the health of the population and negatively affecting the economy. According to the forecasts of the World Health Organization, we will feel its consequences in the coming years. All this requires close regional cooperation and mutual assistance from us,” he said.

The President proposed to launch a unified system for the recognition of vaccination certificates in Central Asia.

“To this end, I propose to launch a unified information system for the recognition of test results and vaccination certificates, expand the exchange of experience in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, training of medical workers, establish scientific cooperation in the field of pharmacology and cooperation in the production of vital drugs,” the head of state noted.

In addition, Mirziyoyev spoke about environmental issues.

“It is necessary to expand the scale of cooperation, to take all possible measures to mitigate the consequences of the Aral Sea catastrophe. We also advocate the development of a regional program “Green Agenda” for Central Asia, which would contribute to the adaptation of our countries to climate change, as well as the wider introduction of resource-saving technologies,” he concluded.
