Winners of International Science Olympiads and their teachers awarded
Pupils who won prizes in prestigious science Olympiads were awarded cash prizes from 49 million to 122.5 million soums, and their teachers from 36.8 million to 110 million soums.
At the International Science Olympiads held in July-August this year, Uzbek students won a total of 10 medals (3 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze).
The ceremony of awarding the Olympic winners and their teachers took place yesterday, August 17, in Tashkent, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Participating in the event, Deputy PM Behzod Musayev said that Uzbek athletes deservedly participated in the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, and similar achievements continued in the prestigious Science Olympiads.

“Today’s heroes have won a total of 10 medals in the world’s most prestigious Olympiads in mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry. And in 2020, we won 6 medals. We are happy that our results are growing both in quantity and quality,” he said.
At the ceremony, students and their teachers who won prestigious international science olympiads in mathematics (IMO), physics (IphO), chemistry (IChO), biology (IBO), computer science (IOI) were awarded one-time cash prizes.
- 1st place (gold medal) – 122.5 million soums for a student, 110.25 million soums for a teacher;
- 2nd place (silver medal) – 73.5 million soums for a student, 61.25 million soums for a teacher;
- 3rd place (bronze medal) – 49 million soums for a student, 36.75 million soums for a teacher.




Students who have won prizes in prestigious international competitions are admitted to higher education institutions on a preferential basis.
