“I am concerned about increasing number of fines imposed by the tax authorities” – President
Serious measures must be taken to simplify tax administration and improve the control functions of tax authorities in Uzbekistan.
This was announced by the President during a meeting with entrepreneurs.
“I am concerned about the increase in the number and size of some of the fines imposed by the tax authorities. Last year, 336 enterprises were fined 51 billion soums, and in the first six months of this year, more than 3,000 entrepreneurs were fined over 900 billion soums,” the head of state said.
Mirziyoyev instructed the relevant departments to submit proposals within a month to abolish the practice of applying financial sanctions based on the results of an in-house audit of tax authorities.
“According to the current procedure, entrepreneurs must submit a separate application to the tax authorities to recover the difference together with a value added tax report. This is directly related to the activities of 14,000 entrepreneurs, and it takes extra time. Ishmetov and Kudbiyev should study this issue in detail and introduce a procedure for refunding VAT without additional documents from next year,” the President concluded.
