Population density in Uzbekistan reaches 77 people per sq. km
According to the State Statistics Committee, as of January 1, 2021, the population density in Uzbekistan was 77 people per sq. km.
Reportedly, the figure was reasonably lower 30 years ago. In 1991, the population density in the country was 46.1 people per sq. km.
Earlier the committee reported that the permanent population of Uzbekistan increased by 13.9 million since 1991, reaching 34.5 million in January 2021.
In January-July 2021, the population of the country increased by an average of 50.2 thousand people per month or by 1.7 thousand people per day.
