Paralympic Games Tokyo: Uzbekistan jumps to 12th place in team standings
The 4th day of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo is proving fruitful for Uzbekistan.
Nozima Kayumova has bagged gold in the women’s javelin throw F13 class with a result of 42.59 meters and became a two-time Paralympic champion. Nozima also won a gold medal at Rio 2016.

Mohigul Khamdamova also became a champion in discus throw in the F57 class. She secured a gold medal with a result of 31.46 meters.

Elbek Sultonov, who competed in the men’s shot put F12 final, won a bronze medal with a result of 15.94 meters.

Ruza Kuzieva earned silver in women’s powerlifting (61 kg), lifting 130 kg.

Thus, the number of medals Uzbek athletes have won reached 7 (3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze).

Currently, Uzbekistan ranks 12th in team standings.
