Number of marriages in August shows a downward trend
In August 2021, 31,519 marriages were registered in Uzbekistan, the State Statistics Committee said in a report.
This is 10,197 less compared to the same period last year, the committee noted.
The reason for such a sharp decrease in the number of marriages is not provided.
Earlier, the State Statistics Committee informed that the permanent population of Uzbekistan surpassed 35 million.
“Resident population of the country stands at 35,000,210 people as of September 7. The figure increased by over 140 thousand in two months. As of July 1, 2021, the republic’s permanent population was 34,860,170 people,” the committee said then.
