A presidential decree on measures to introduce a system of training and education of military personnel of foreign states in the higher military educational institutions of Uzbekistan has been adopted.
According to the document, departments for work with foreign military personnel are being created in the higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense.
Also, the Regulation on the training and education of military personnel of foreign states in Uzbekistan has been approved. It defines the procedure for training and its financing, as well as the rights and obligations of foreign military personnel during the training period.
The training of military personnel of foreign states is organized by the Ministry of Defense on the basis of an official request from those countries in agreement with the Security Council under the President. It is carried out in accordance with the concluded bilateral international treaties on a gratuitous, preferential and paid basis.
Annual quotas for admission to higher military educational institutions of Uzbekistan are established by the President.
Foreign military personnel are admitted to study at institutions without entrance exams. Training is carried out according to educational programs of higher military education in the Uzbek and Russian languages.
