“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has indeed announced that Tashkent welcomes the creation of an interim government in Afghanistan and expressed the hope that this decision will be the beginning of achieving broad national consensus, establishing sustainable peace and stability in this country, which is not official recognition of the Taliban by Uzbekistan,” he said in an interview with TASS
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation stressed that “we respect the position of Uzbekistan on Afghanistan.”
“We believe that the actions of the Uzbek leadership are aimed, first of all, at preventing a humanitarian catastrophe in the neighboring state, which could lead to the spread of terrorism and an increase in the number of refugees in the region,” concluded Oleg Syromolotov.
