Uzbekistan decreases car production by 31%, increases gasoline production slightly
In January-September 2021, 67,588 less cars were produced than in the same period last year. The volume of gasoline production increased by 5.7%, amounted to 815,000 tons in 9 months.
The State Statistics Committee reported about the volume of production of some industrial products in January-September 2021.
Reportedly, during the period under review, 815.2 thousand tons of motor gasoline were produced. Coal production amounted to 3,644.2 thousand tons, oil production – 518.8 thousand tons, cars – 150,183 units, buses – 696 units, trucks – 2,919 units, tractors – 173 units and car engines – 99.5 thousand units
Despite the increase in production and imports of gasoline, prices rose by 26.9%.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of passenger car production in Uzbekistan decreased by 31% compared to last year. For comparison, the number of cars produced in 9 months was 217,771 in 2020 and 186,432 in 2019.
The sharp decline in the automotive industry is explained by the shortage of microchips.
