Uzbekistan extends preferences for cement imports for another one year
Customs duties on cement imports will be applied at a zero rate in 2022 as well. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this at a video conference on November 2.
Also, the profit tax for cement producers will be reduced from 20% to 15%, and the tax on subsoil use will be cut by 2 times.
“This will reduce the cost of production of 1 ton of cement by 7% and will lead to a significant reduction in housing prices,” Mirziyoyev said.
It should be reminded that the government abolished customs duties on the import of cement products from April 1 to December 1. Previously, the customs duty was 30 percent.
