Samarkand airport remains closed until Dec 15
The international airport in Samarkand will remain closed until December 15, 2021.
According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, work on preparing for commissioning a new airfield complex and new air navigation equipment is still ongoing.
“In this regard, the closure of the airport is being extended until December 15,” the company said.
All flights will continue to be redirected to other international airports of the republic – Navoi, Bukhara, Karshi, from where a ground transfer to Samarkand will be organized for passengers.
The airport in Samarkand is being reconstructed in connection with the upcoming SCO Summit in 2022.
