Sarvarbek Zafarjonov becomes silver medalist at World Weightlifting Championship

On December 13, at the World Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent, an Uzbek weightlifter Sarvarbek Zafarjonov won a silver medal in the weight category up to 89 kg. He lifted a total of 371 kg (166 kg in the snatch and 205 kg in the clean and jerk), the athlete scored the same amount as the champion of South Korea, Yu Dongju (167 kg and 204 kg). Our compatriot became the second only because he was 0.4 kg lighter than the Korean. 

Third place went to Revaz Davitadze from Georgia.

On the same day, competitions among women in the weight category up to 71 kg were held. Kumushkhon Fayzullayeva secured the 8th place.
