“Many people are asking if diplomas of such institutions as Valley Innovative University, Samarkand-Korea International University, Angren-Korean International University, International University of Europe are recognized in Uzbekistan,” the Inspectorate said. “Some of these institutions are even promising citizens studying abroad to transfer their studies to Uzbekistan without exams.”

According to the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Quality in Education, the aforementioned educational institutions do not have any license granting the right to provide educational services in the field of higher education in Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, diplomas issued by non-state higher educational institutions that do not have a license from the Education Inspectorate for the provision of higher education services are not recognized.

It is noted that in recent years the number of non-state educational institutions has increased several times, creating a healthy competitive environment between public and private educational organizations.

The Education Inspectorate not only simplified the licensing system for the activities of non-state educational organizations, but also introduced a system of short-term consideration of applications from applicants.

If in 2018-2020 the number of unlicensed non-state higher educational organizations was 13, then as a result of the reforms carried out in 2021, 18 non-state higher educational organizations were licensed.
