Deputies approved the appointment of the chairman of the Ecological Party Narzullo Oblomurodov as chairman of the Ecological Committee. The former presidential candidate, who took office at a time when the environmental situation is deteriorating, will now be directly authorized to fulfill his pre-election promises.
On December 30, at the plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, the candidacy of Narzullo Oblomurodov was approved for the post of chairman of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, the press service of the lower house of parliament reported.
Narzullo Oblomuradov, 46, has been chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan since February this year.
He occupied the 4th place in the October presidential election with 670,641 votes (4.14%).
The position of chairman of the Ecological Committee has been vacant for 4 months. Ex-chairman Alisher Maksudov was fired at a critical presidential meeting after eight months in office.
Narzullo Oblomurodov is not a newcomer to this committee, he has been the first deputy chairman of the Ecocommittee since April 2020.
During his career, Oblomurodov, who also worked in the Presidential Administration, was awarded the “Sodiq xizmatlari uchun” medal in 2019.
