Uzavtosanoat signs memorandum with Chinese EV manufacturer

Uzavtosanoat has signed a memorandum with the Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles BYD, the Deputy Board Chairman of the company Azizbek Shukurov said.

“Today, we signed a memorandum with BYD, China’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer,” he said.

Details of the contract have not been disclosed though. However, it can be seen as the first step towards developing EV making industry in Uzbekistan.

It should be recalled that recently Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to work out a strategy for the development of the electric car industry in the republic and criticized Uzavtosanoat for a number of shortcomings in its work.
