Deputy FMs of Uzbekistan and Iran discuss prospects for further development of bilateral relations in Tehran
Yesterday, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Mehdi Safari in Tehran.
During the talks, the parties agreed on the consistent implementation of the agreements reached as a result of visits and negotiations at the highest levels between the two countries, the 14th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation, as well as on the further expansion of bilateral trade-economic cooperation and industrial cooperation.
The parties considered the issues of accelerating the implementation of the joint “start-up” projects announced by the two countries in the field of science and innovation, as well as within the framework of measures to improve the environmental situation in the Aral Sea region.
The prospects for further development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran were also discussed in detail.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a number of other topical issues on the agenda.
