International Agricultural University to be opened in Tashkent jointly with RAU of Great Britain
On May 25, First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan Komiljon Karimov held talks with Vice-Rector of the Royal Agricultural University of Great Britain (Royal Agriculture University – RAU), Professor Neil Ravenscroft, in the capital of Great Britain.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the details of the upcoming launch of the International Agrarian University in Tashkent together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Royal Agricultural University of Great Britain as part of the implementation of the decree of the President of Uzbekistan on the establishment of this institution.
According to the management of the British university, in June, it is planned to sign an agreement on franchising educational programs of the Royal Agricultural University at the undergraduate level for their implementation in the educational process of the new joint university. In September, it is planned to launch an integrated preparatory program “Foundation” for applicants, and from September next year – to introduce 6 undergraduate programs into the educational process at the new university: “Smart agriculture”, “Agricultural technologies”, “Sustainable agriculture and resources”, “Sustainable animal husbandry”, “International business management” and “Logistics in the food industry”.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached on organizing mutual visits.
