Pension Fund refutes rumors about distribution of 200,000 soums to all children on occasion of June 1
Social networks reported that the President of Uzbekistan will give all children 200,000 soums as a gift on occasion of June 1 – International Children’s Day. According to the Antifake.uz Telegram channel, these reports are not true.
“These reports are false and untrue. There is a responsibility for spreading false information among the population,” the channel said.
Abdulaziz Khaydarov, the director of the Pension Fund, also called on the media not to believe the false reports on social media that 200,000 soums were being distributed to all citizens.
According to him, to date, 65% of people in need of social protection in the country have received funds (from 300-400 thousand soums) through the relevant mobile cash desks of the People’s Bank. Over two weeks, more than 4.2 million retirees and pensioners (100%) are expected to receive the above funds.
In addition, 200,000 soums are distributed to children under 18 from low-income families (4.7 million). The total number of recipients of such assistance is about 9 million.
It should be recalled that on May 25, the presidential decree “On additional measures for targeted support of vulnerable groups of the population” was signed. According to it, one-time financial assistance will be provided to a number of segments of the population in need of social protection at the expense of the state budget.
In particular, to the recipients of old-age disability pensions and benefits, to each family member receiving a disability pension and survivor’s pension, as well as to care recipients of children under 18 years of age with a disability in need of care:
• In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions – from 300 thousand soums;
• In the city of Tashkent – from 400 thousand soums.
Low-income families receiving financial assistance and for each child under 18 years of age from low-income families receiving child benefits will be paid 200,000 soums through the information system “Single Register of Social Protection”.
