At a regular meeting of the faction of the “Milliy Tiklanish” Democratic Party, the draft law “On amendments and additions to the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was discussed.

It was noted that despite the announced moratorium, the aggressive actions of individuals in relation to the objects of the plant world continue. So, in 2019, facts of illegal felling of 3,733 trees were revealed, in 2020 – 7,812, in 2021 – 8,243.

To prevent such cases, it is proposed to increase the amount of fines for illegal logging, uprooting, damage, destruction, or transplanting to another place of trees and shrubs, other plants and young growth. In particular, if such cases are identified, citizens will be fined from 10 to 15 BCAs (now from 5 to 10 BCAs), and officials – up to 20 BCAs (now from 10 to 15 BCAs).

The draft law was passed by deputies.
