Two men sentenced to administrative arrest for posting video of traffic officer
A court in Shahrisabz has sentenced two residents of Kashkadarya region to administrative arrest for filming a traffic police officer on duty and posting the footage online in a way deemed to damage the officer’s reputation.
The Shahrisabz City Criminal Court found M.M., born in 1988, and B.R., born in 1999, guilty under Article 195-2 of Uzbekistan’s Administrative Liability Code, which prohibits the dissemination of altered or misleading images of law-enforcement officers that could undermine their dignity. The ruling was issued on 5 December 2025.
According to case materials, the two men recorded a video of T.Kh., a road patrol officer performing his duties to ensure public safety in Shahrisabz. The court found that M.M. and B.R. intentionally shared the footage on social media in a manner aimed at discrediting the officer in front of the public.
The court sentenced M.M. to 10 days of administrative arrest, while B.R. received 7 days.
