Acting FM Vladimir Norov meets with PRC FM in Nur-Sultan
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov today in the city of Nur-Sultan met with a member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi.
According to the MFA, during the talks, the state and prospects for the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China were discussed.
The ministers reviewed the progress in the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, the fulfillment of the tasks set by the leaders of the two states to further build up bilateral relations in promising areas of cooperation.
The importance of the practical implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, including the acceleration of the development of its feasibility study, was emphasized.
The parties exchanged views on deepening a constructive dialogue within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the course of preparations for the organization’s Summit in September this year in Samarkand, as well as topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
The ministers paid special attention to the mechanisms of interaction to ensure regional security, promote the achievement of lasting peace in Afghanistan and restore its economy.
Other issues on the bilateral agenda were also discussed during the meeting.
It should be recalled that on June 8, Acting FM of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov will take part in the third ministerial meeting in the “Central Asia – China” format in the capital of Kazakhstan.
