Uzbekistan, UK discuss prospects for bilateral relations in Afghan direction
Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks with the UK Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Nigel Casey via videoconference.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for Uzbek-British cooperation in the Afghan direction, in particular, the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
The British diplomat highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
The sides also exchanged views on the upcoming International Conference on Afghanistan, which will be held on July 26 in Tashkent.
