Deputy FM of Uzbekistan meets with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of India
The delegation headed by the Deputy FM of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with the State Minister of Foreign Affairs and the State Minister of Culture, Member of the Parliament of India, Meenakashi Lekhi, as part of a visit to Delhi.
During the meeting, the Indian side was informed in detail about the significance of the constitutional reforms being implemented today in Uzbekistan. In turn, Meenakashi Lekhi positively assessed the process of these reforms and noted their importance for developing the country.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in political, trade-economic, investment, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other fields. Separately, implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level in these areas was considered.
It was recognized that the activation of inter-parliamentary relations is equally important for both sides.
In the course of the meeting, it was noted that the effective implementation of the Cultural Exchange Program between the governments of Uzbekistan and India for 2021-2025 is of great importance for the practical cooperation of the two countries. In particular, within the framework of this program, it was agreed to establish active working relations between museums, large libraries and archives of the two countries.
