Statistics Committee provides data on demographic changes in Uzbekistan for H1 of 2022
The State Statistics Committee has provided information on demographic changes in the country for the first half of the year.
The committee noted that as of July 1, 2022, the population of the republic stands at 35.6 million people. Of which, 17.9 million are men and 17.7 million are women.
18.1 million people live in cities and 17.5 million people live in rural areas.
During the reporting period, the country registered 413.6 thousand births and 80.9 thousand deaths.
The number of marriages recorded in the first half of the year amounted to 108.9 thousand, the number of divorces – 24.6 thousand.
In January-June 2022, 1.4 thousand people emigrated from the country and about 900 people moved to Uzbekistan for permanent residence.
