Number of permanent residents increased by 332.1 thousand people over six months
In Uzbekistan, over the past six months, the number of permanent residents has increased by 332.1 thousand people.
According to the State Statistics Committee data, the resident population of Uzbekistan as of July 1, 2022 amounted to 35,603.4 thousand people, having increased by 332.1 thousand people since the beginning of this year.
Resident population by region:
• Republic of Karakalpakstan – 1,962.4 thousand people;
• Andijan region – 3,283.8 thousand people;
• Bukhara region – 1,990.4 thousand people;
• Jizzakh region – 1,457.7 thousand people;
• Kashkadarya region – 3,438.6 thousand people;
• Navoi region – 1,044.0 thousand people;
• Namangan region – 2,959.3 thousand people;
• Samarkand region – 4,069.3 thousand people;
• Surkhandarya region – 2,771.1 thousand people;
• Syrdarya region – 8 87.1 thousand people;
• Tashkent region – 2,962.5 thousand people;
• Fergana region – 3,931.1 thousand people;
• Khorezm region – 1,936.6 thousand people;
• Tashkent – 2,909.5 thousand people.
It is noted that as a result of expansion of the territory of the Tashkent city at the expense of the lands of the Tashkent region, there was a noticeable change in the number of population.
